Lincoln’s Co-Pilot360 suite is one of the most comprehensive standard driver assistance packages offered by an American automaker. Since 2019 it ships on every new Lincoln as standard equipment, not an optional add-on. Acoustic glass and the Lincoln cabin
Lincoln has built its brand identity around cabin quietness. The acoustic PVB interlayer in Lincoln windshields contributes to that in a measurable way. It absorbs sound vibrations at the glass surface before they transmit into the cabin, and at 70 mph on I-285 the difference between acoustic and standard glass is not subtle.
Navigator and Aviator models use acoustic glass as a standard specification. Nautilus and Corsair may have it depending on trim level. HUD-equipped Navigator and Aviator models
Heads-up displays are available on the Navigator (standard on Reserve and Black Label trims) and optional on the Aviator. Lincoln’s HUD projects speed, navigation directions, and driver assist status onto the lower windshield in the driver’s direct sight line. Like all HUD-equipped vehicles, a Lincoln with HUD requires a windshield with a wedge angle built into the glass to prevent the projected image from doubling on the surface.

Atlanta driving and the Navigator’s large glass surface
The Navigator is a large vehicle with a commensurately large windshield. More glass surface means more exposure to highway debris. Atlanta’s construction-heavy highway network, particularly I-285 west and I-20 east through Decatur, generates consistent chips for Navigator drivers commuting from Sandy Springs, Buckhead, and Dunwoody.
Lincoln’s quiet interior is part of what makes chips go unnoticed. The cabin absorbs road noise so effectively that owners frequently do not hear the impact when a chip occurs. A chip that would sound like a sharp crack in a base-trim vehicle arrives as a dull thud in a Navigator. Owners sometimes discover the damage days later when they notice a glint in the glass at a particular sun angle.
If a chip is small (under one inch) and outside the camera zone, we can typically repair it in about 30 minutes with optical resin injection. Chips in the camera zone, cracks longer than 6 inches, and edge damage require full replacement.
Co-Pilot360 vs. Co-Pilot360 Plus: calibration differences
Co-Pilot360 standard, present on all Lincoln models since 2019, uses the single forward-facing windshield camera for automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, lane-keeping, and auto high beams. After windshield replacement, static calibration with a target board re-establishes the camera angle.
Co-Pilot360 Plus adds adaptive cruise with stop-and-go, lane centering, and evasive steering assist. These functions require the camera to operate with tighter angular accuracy than the standard suite. For Plus-equipped Aviator and Navigator models, calibration takes more time and requires the controlled, level surface of our in-shop facility to execute reliably. We are direct about this when you call: for Co-Pilot360 Plus models, mobile replacement is not the right service path.
Corsair and Nautilus: same requirements, smaller footprint
The Corsair and Nautilus carry smaller windshields than the Navigator and Aviator, but they carry identical Co-Pilot360 camera requirements. The calibration procedure is the same across the Lincoln lineup. A Corsair replacement does not save meaningful time compared to a Navigator replacement; the calibration step is the same regardless of glass size.
